We’ve been told that through the chill of Winter, Spring will thaw all that is cold. Afterwards it will bring new life showering the world with its warm azure sky.
Hence, I’m hoping things will soon pick up their paces in my life.
I am begging, on my knees and head touching the ground for a job in the tourism industry. Honestly, I want the experience to further my career in this field. People keep telling me I should just get whatever and don’t be too picky, but no that’s not what I think.
What’s the point if I start working in something which has no relation to what I studied? Then when I go for interviews for a tourism job, I have no past experience like now. In the end I am still at the beginning going nowhere.
Therefore I am applying for a lot of jobs in the industry.
Perhaps people just don’t know there’s many different roles and positions in the large tourism industry. Everyone instantly think of travel agents and airlines. Yes those are the ones the public have the most access to but there are plenty more.
All I need to do is just get a position, even in the administration area. As long as it’s in a tourism based company I’m happy.
But darn them all for wanting past experience when I recently graduated.
They don’t even care if I hold a Distinction in my hand.
This is how the world is now, you spend years studying trying your best thinking if you come out with the best score then for sure you’ll get a position.
Stupid high school teachers who feed that in our minds!
Therefore, don’t believe them!
Great scores are of course wonderful, but don’t think because you ace your exams people will pat you on the back and want you on their team. It’s not that easy.
Okay, enough of me ranting about my sad current unemployment status.
Onto happier thoughts. My sister, Trinh and I are off to Hamilton Island in less than two weeks. For your information, I’ll fill you in on it briefly. Below is an image of where the island is in Australia.
As you can you, it is up above New South Wales where I live , Queensland what we call here “The Sunshine Coast”. Hamilton Island is one of the biggest island in the Whitsunday Islands. All the islands that are clouded together there on the map is a part of Whitsunday Islands like Hamilton. You can see the airport icon, on Hamilton Island, it is the only island outside of Queensland that has its own airport. That’s where my sister and I will be landing.
Initially, my sister wants to go to Hayman Island but that place is much more secluded than Hamilton. Though Hayman is a beautiful place for honeymooners because of the serene atmosphere. But as my sister and I want some fun and activities, we decided Hamilton would be better for us.
Excited as can be, I’ve marked the days I’ll be gone on the calender over the right navigation column. We’ll be borrowing my brother’s SLR camera and hopefully get some beautiful pictures. Once I return I’ll be more than happy to show you the wonderful adventure.
